The evolution of working procedures in large workshops will involve the elimination of cables. The AXONE Pad has been designed in response to this need: it is a portable, light and easy-to-use wireless display tool.
The AXONE Pad is used in combination with a diagnostic interface which is connected to the vehicle’s diagnostic socket, and communicates all the data using a Bluetooth wireless connection.
By featuring just one integrated operating system, the operator can use all these devices with the same tool for displaying and processing the data.
The technician can therefore work around the vehicle in complete freedom; if, for example, when checking the operation of the rear light module, the technician can simply go to the rear of the vehicle and activate the light directly, using the AXONE Pad.
When using tools with a cable connection, this simple procedure often required two technicians.
With "AXONE Palm", TEXA is proud to be the first company in the world to introduce the "third dimension in diagnosis".Today, when an intervention is performed on a new generation vehicle, the repairer can rely on high level diagnostic instruments. This can be considered the "first dimension". The "second dimension" is given by technical data such as:  wiring diagrams, mechanical data and comparative tables, all data useful to repair the damaged vehicle. Today, the "third" dimension introduced by TEXA, in the new AXONE Palm gives the repairer new diagnostic data: "Shared information". Deep care has been put in studying, realizing and proposing to the market this technical revolution in the easiest and most intuitive way. To reach this proud target (to supply with an innovative and easy system), TEXA has been the first in the "automotive" sector to do a partnership with "Google", the most famous, powerful and effective Internet searching. TEXA "third dimension" is the button "Search" (the question mark button) on AXONE Palm display. Edit the problem of the car and connect to TEXA server. Thanks to Google it is not necessary to be extremely precise in editing: in case the word “displai” is written instead of “display”, or “Pegeot” instead of “Peugeot”, the Internet searching will activate the function " Did you mean...": in this way the description of the failure can be easily identified. If the anomaly is among those already known by TEXA, a description of the solution and the procedure of intervention will appear in a web-like page.In case the anomaly is unknown also to TEXA, the Internet searching does not find any answer and the repairer must follow the usual procedure: calling TEXA International Call Center and wait for them to study and solve it.The solution to this problem becomes immediately part of the data for all AXONE Palm users; it is immediately stored in TEXA server, made available and translated to different languages, for the future searching. Now TEXA owns about 4000 solved cases in its "shared knowledge" databank. Thanks to the customers' input about 100 new solutions are implemented in TEXA international Call Center every week. The "third dimension" reduces the time of repairing and gives correct and quick estimates of the works; it easily proposes a growing number of solutions. So the repairer can easily and very quickly find the solution to new and apparently unsolvable problems thanks to the "magical" button and to the experience of many colleagues all over Europe. On the contrary, if he is the first to find such a  problem, he will get the satisfaction to provide, together with TEXA, the solution to a new "case" to all the other workshops.  The only necessary prerequisite to access this " third dimension" is the ADSL "Wi-Fi" wireless Internet connection.Thanks to ADSL connection, AXONE Palm can self-update to new software releases and technical bulletins: the repairer doesn't need any longer to connect manually.  This innovation adds to the usual diagnostic characteristics of TEXA products: the diagnostic features have been implemented in these new models with software “IDC4 Pocket” and "Bluetooth" connection to all TEXA modules.
 The procedure starts by selecting the model or, if the vehicle is already on the workshops database, by entering the vehicles registration number. The operating environment provides a series of specific “tools” for each vehicle:
  • Auto diagnosis (ready to communicate with the vehicle’s electronic systems);
  • Exhaust gas analysis for petrol or diesel (based on the vehicle selected);
  • Oscilloscope tests (electrical tests for each of the vehicle’s individual components are already configured);
  • Battery efficiency, starting and charging system tests;
  • Network test (electrical analysis and troubleshooting of Can, Van, Lin networks etc.).
In addition, all the mechanical, technical and maintenance information, wiring diagrams, bulletins and much more are available at all times. To further assist the repair procedures, the tool includes numeric data, test values, wiring diagrams and detailed descriptions of the operation of the vehicle’s onboard electronics.

Automatic updates
Using the built-in Wi-Fi module supplied as standard, the AXONE Direct can connect to the Internet at any time, without requiring a physical connection to the telephone line. This means the user can take advantage of the “SEARCH” function, powered by Google, as well as a whole series of additional functions. The most important of these is certainly the automatic update. The AXONE Direct, at night, queries the TEXA central servers for any new software updates. If a more recent version is available than the one installed, this is downloaded. Nonetheless, for those who don’t wish to use this automatic function, TEXA also provides updates in the normal way via DVD.
The TGS2 system, TEXA Global Scan 2, is an addition to the main operating system IDC4, and represents the second generation in the automatic scanning of vehicle ECUs. This innovation developed by TEXA offers the technician in depth analysis, on a wide range of brands and models, which has always been TEXA’s strength. Compared to the first generation, TGS2 has been designed specifically for the needs of the multi-brand environment.The advantages are obvious, as the technician receives immediate feedback on the systems that the TEXA tool can diagnose, and to which it can automatically connect directly. When a car comes into the workshop, the technician connects the TEXA interface to the diagnostics socket; in a fully automatic way, without any other manual intervention, the IDC4 software scans all the known systems. If after this procedure some system errors are identified, you can immediately enter in the diagnosis of the ECU to which they relate. If the systems are fault free, you can use this facility to access the ECUs to perform further test or adjustments. There is no doubt that this new scanning generation is another important step by TEXA as a way of simplifying the diagnosis procedure as the technician’s work becomes more complex. It is no longer necessary to look manually for faults: TGS2 can do it automatically, saving and improving accuracy. The combination of TGS2 and Google “SEARCH” represents the best assistance that modern technology  can offer when repairing modern vehicles. Saving time and uncertainty, offering their customers a professional service, is a fundamental requirement of the modern technician; to satisfy this need, a new reference point, TEXA Global Scan 2, has been developed.
